How it Works

Equipment Rental Add On which enhances SAP® Business ByDesign® with the rental process. It gives you a separate work centre for managing rental assets, availability, orders and execution.

  • Equipment Rental uses the Fixed assets of the company
  • Availability of the assets can be tracked using the availability list
  • Booking/Blocking of an asset for a customer is also possible
  • Booked items can be converted to an order at any point in time, Or Cancelled and given back to the availability pool
  • An Execution module provides the details of any rental order at any point
  • Once Order is processed, Invoices can be generated on ad-hoc basis or can be scheduled on a periodic basis
  • Outbound and inbound of an asset can be tracked in separate work spaces
  • A Quality control module along with maintenance module keeps the assets in good condition

  • Rent available Equipment.

Quality check

  • Quality check before every rental ensures good condition of the rented equipment(s).
  • Booking is automatically canceled when confirmation after quality check fails.

Time Sheet

On return of the equipment or periodically, the actual time is recorded and Invoice is generated.


In case of a breakdown during the rental period, user can cancel the order and raise a new one with a different equipment, logging the usage details from the previous one. The broken down equipment will trigger a corrective maintenance cycle.
